Tooth Care 101: Dentist Tips Everybody believes they are brushing the right way but not everyone knows that there are mistakes you are making too. You have been brushing for so many years. You are probably thinking that cavities are not your problems. You believed that you’ve been doing it long enough that you don’t think there’s a problem with your style of brushing. There’s no one alive today who hasn’t committed those mistakes in their lives. Most are consistently making many of these mistakes. So what are the best ways to correct those mistakes? These are the best tips from Dentists. 1.Do not keep your toothbrush way too long. The life of a toothbrush with twice a day usage, for 7 days a week, for every month is 3 months in total. Throw your toothbrush away after 200 uses. The bristles of your toothbrush will go all over the place, in different direction. This affects your dental hygiene. It will not give you the best brushing experience.

2.You are not brushing your teeth long enough. Do not forget to use a timer for this one. You can brush one side for 2 minutes because it gives time for the fluoride to start reacting to the teeth. Dentists are actually recommending 2 minutes as the best amount of time. The goal of brushing is not just to hit them all.

3.Try not to rinse it with water. Even if you brush for two minutes, you spit it out, gargle with water; you are taking half of the fluoride out of your mouth. You want to leave that in there. Using a mouthwash is a way around this technique, because you can rinse your mouth even after brushing. It has fluoride in it and you can quickly rinse, gargle, spit that out and the fluoride is still going to stick to your teeth. Remember not to use water after your brush. Get use to that feeling and just spit the it out. 4.Do not store your toothbrush in the bathroom. We are all doing it. Convenience is the reason why we store it inside the bathroom. More than half of the toothbrushes tested when stored in the bathroom have feces on them. It has higher percentage of getting wet plus it is humid inside the bathroom. Take it out of the bathroom. Put it near a night stand, et cetera. 5.Floss always. How do you start to floss? The hardest part is creating a habit to start flossing. A tip from dentists, just floss one tooth. The habit of flossing is easier after you started with that one tooth. 6.Brush your tongue. Your tongue is important in your brushing routine. Use your favorite toothbrush. On the opposite side is a tongue scraper. It is a good practice to brush your tongue after your brush your teeth. It is imperative that you clean your tongue regularly. 7.Do not use a hard tooth brush. The best choice is the soft one. This is an issue apparently. You are trying to get off some of the meat or food that gotten stuck in and around your teeth. You’re not going to shine those things up. Brushing them to shine them is not the main objective here. It is not advisable to use the medium and hard toothbrushes since it will damage your gums in the long run. It is time to take care of your teeth. Care for them wisely and they will care for you.
